Had a blast, was good to meet some new ppls. Shame I chouldnt take part in all the comps as I had to dash home and back a few times due to my sick kids. Thanks to the lanfest team for orgsanising it. best reason for a day of work in agers :) hope to see you all again in future lans some asked for my msn witch is legion_omegea@hotmail.com

Thanks. We are all terribly sorry about the lag issues, its mainly due to the lack of budget we are forced to live off :P
 
We did not expect the turnout that came and things got a bit rushed for us in the final planning stages. The network setup which worked in previous years failed this year so the staff will sit down sometime over the summer and decide what we should do next.
 
Other than that, it was a pretty sweet LAN, good to see some new blood to frag :P
 
On another point, if we continue doing these we are thinking of making them more regular so you might see one happening in April or June next year, don't quote me though :P

Let us now say once and fore all.  We will never again mention the abomination that was the laggfest competition gaming of 09. I honestly thought since the first lanfest where 999 pings occurred that wound never see that again.
Thanks to all who came along.  The sponsors and providers of services.
For all those who yelled "Gunny" at me during the lan, get yourselves sorted BEFORE the lan next time, and leave me to game next time.
Roll on the next one.  It cant be worse. All those who asked when it is ask in a new forum thread.
Recommended Improvements
Giga Network/Real Internetz/Better Servers etc
Better Food Shops (Bakery fail)
Less yelling "Gunny How do I ..."
A new "KEEP IT SIMPLE" plan for all things LANfest.
 
   A) does it need coding (if it can be done with paper do it)
 
   B) Can it go wrong , can i be sure by testing it (lots)
 
   C) If I need to fix it, can I on the spot  (otherwise new plan)

Seriously I had a ton of fun.  Just nice to get out and meet some great gamers...  A lot of fun was had by all I am sure.  Sure there are growing pains, but that comes with the territory.

In the future, if me or my buddies can be of any service to help the event go over more smoothly, please let us know.  We have experience in this sort of thing and can lend a hand.  I myself know how hard it can be to make things go off without a single hitch.

Meh it was undoubtably Lagfest, but that didn't detract from the experience too much
Personally I had a great time and was impressed at the commitment to coating it with as much awesomesauce as possible, and if anything we just learned we need to develop better systems for the next one.
I for one will be putting forward ideas and getting on the setup train for the next one to make it as good as possible, I urge others to do the same.
Oh and those are some shocking photos of me : D I think its jenny time!
