ballzak Posts: 57 Admin, Staff		General Information about Competitions: UPDATED: 23/11/2009 (Changes are made in BOLD) We will be hosting 4 competitions for prizes at LANfest 2009. These games were decided on as they were the most popular as of 23/11/2009. These games are subject to change and will be confirmed on the day of presale closure. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (11.30am) Team Fortress 2 (1.30pm) Counter Strike Source (3pm) Crysis Wars (5pm) Times and Annoucments will be posted in the projector screen. We also may host other games during the day but these will not count for prizes. Unlike previous years competitions will start exactly on the time specified. If you don't have the game, you will have plenty of opportunity to get it off someone else before the competitions start. Please Note that LANfest will not supply you with cracks/keys for games and it does not take any responisblity for supplying you with a pirated version of the game. Servers will be open for practice for 15 minutes before specified start time and will be open til the end of the match. You may join competitions in the middle if you are late. If people are interested in still doing free play after the game has been finished then the server may stay up. In general, we will have two map rotations for each game. If we reach the 32 player limit during the warmup round we will open a second server. We will then pick the 10 best players from each server and those players will be in a third final round. We will welcome suggestions on what maps you would like to play in the forum. A thread will be created for each game. Spot prizes will also be awarded for different situations that happen on the day. In past years we have had prizes for funny things that have happened during lans. Scoring The attendee with the most points for each game will be crowned the winner of that game and will win a small prize. For the "King/Queen(hey, you never know) of the LAN" prize and 2nd/3rd places we will be using the following scoring system. 1st in a map rotation will score you 5 points. 2nd in a map rotation will score you 4 points. 3rd in a map rotation will score you 3 points. 4th in a map rotation will score you 2 points If there is a final due to overflow you will score 1 point for making the final Participating in a map rotation will score you 0.5 points. Attendees will be able to see their scores shortly after each game on the projector screen. We will not publicily show Total scores though as we would like to keep that a surprise for prizegiving. I beleive that having 32 player capability and being freeware (or very close) would mean we can all play Crysis Wars (LAN requires no purchase) Or HL2 DM (free for ATI or Nvidia) . I think Crysis Wars is fun and competitive. HL2 DM is fun but not as polished. Both are probably not played much by most of us though. ballzak Posts: 57 Admin, Staff		The reason why I left the last one undecided is because I know a lot of people have those games, but would never want to play them :P Personally I would think a BF2 comp would be best. But it's starting to get down on the number of people who have it.. ---
