we are giving you the chance to give some input on what competitions YOU want to see happen at LANfest 2012
Be creative and realistic, here are a few rules to this,
- Game must be able to be played offline with a dedicated server
- Game must feature a dedicated server we can set up
- Game would need to be available free or is a popular game that almost everybody should have
- If the game is to be shared at the LAN, it must be a free game, we do not promote piracy at our events - The game should be reasonably easy to 'master', nothing with complicated key commands to be able to play properly
- The game must not have any bonus / unlock features from playing, unless that can be turned off from the dedicated server
We will look at each submission, just remember;
- Don't submit a suggestion that has already been posted by someone else, you can post different ideas for the same game
- Feel free to vote for suggestions made
- we only have a limited number of competitions we can run at the event
- game suggestions that don't make it as competitions may still be considered to run as non-competition games
- we may not use all games suggested
Have fun coming up with ideas

COMPETITIVE FPS GAMES
Counter Strike : Global Offensive (CSS if numbers low)
Team Fortress 2
6v6 Pro comp. or 32 player free play non comp payload.
L4D2 Versus
8 player versus. Multiple servers to fill with best teams head to head.
COD 4 (LAN servers ftw)
32 Player . Pro mode. Even playing field for experts and noobs
If we have the internet sorted for these games and numbers keen
Minecraft (see above)
FREEWARE GAMES
teewars / soldat / freeware fun
CrysisWars (free to LAN)

With the announcement of EOL providing internet, Maybe we could re-look at some BF3 and LoL games

I thought all BF3 online servers were public? Just means hosting a competition will be a bit difficult. |

Tue, 25/09/2012 - 11:15 I'm keen to rent us a server as long as it's not too much.
I can't find any info about ON3 Networks servers but could rent one from AUS.
I guess it depends if we have the numbers for a competition or not.
Wouldn't be worth renting a server for 5 people...
