Does it actually look any better or is it just a marketing gimmick?
Component cables should be able to show around the 1080 resolution depending on the output of the device that is outputting the signals,
The quality of component is far better than composite (the single yellow plug) so if the TV doesn't have HDMI, component would be the next best thing
